^^ Re Rangers response
Who has more gravitas?
It definitely has to be the screen designers i'm sorry.
A print designer could leave art college and keep on plodding on doing the same stuff over and over without having to learn anything new. The briefs they have to solve have all been done before so theres nothing too challenging about it.
Whereas a website designer firstly has to stay on top of current technologies and has to always be learning what can/cant be done. and take accessibility into account of the designs. The design has to work over many platforms.
Through personal experience - I reckon that web designers are much more productive with their time as they are in the technology world of "i am the client and i want things yesterday" whereas print designers are "hold on il have to make scribbles in my sketchpad for a few weeks before even considering starting properly".
