    Also bear in mind that if you travel out of the UK your data costs will spiral out of control as you are locked to your 3G carrier (there is no way to unlock a 3G).

    A 2G can be unlocked so it can be used anywhere in the world. Buy a sim in your chosen country and enjoy non-arse-raping data charges.

    This is one reason why I have not gone 3G (still rocking the 2G) as I will be all over the place in a month or so.
