$120k is too much for anything that can't give that return (like an MBA, Law, etc.).
SVA has a pretty good reputation, as far as I know. I love the location.
But that cost is just too much.If it were somewhere like RISD, that has a really solid reputation, it would be worth considering (I loved my short time at RISD and Providence is moving forward). But still, that's a TON of money.
The one thing I will say is that most people cannot get better until they have reached a certain point in their design education. I don't think you can 'teach' yourself to be a good designer, not without a solid foundation or just raw talent (which 99% don't have to start, I sure didn't).
School debt is worth it, but even my grad school only cost about 25k for 3 years (UCLA).
