I came back to comment about this comment:
gramme: "No srsly, I've been feeling ancient too. Was talking to my wife's much younger brothers (16 & 15), and neither of them had even HEARD of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains or Soundgarden."
killthefish: "Somebody has completely failed in educating those two guys. That has nothing to do with age."
Sometimes, in order to really "understand" a certain band, you DO have to be from that time period. Or there has to be some kind of event or growing period that occurs alongside the time period when you hear the music.
If that makes any sense.
- wow gramme... you just got retro PWND!CALLES
- hey, did you have a comment about my comment?SoulFly
- I mean, you could argue that people are always "growing", but people are more nostalgic about childhood + teen years.Jaline
- Agreed!SoulFly
- "understand"ing a band in that way is a different thing from never even HEARING of them.killthefish
- i kondv wish i had never heard of those three bands...sikma
- Yeah, but I would bet that Britney Spears is going to be like these bands in the future, the way things are going.Jaline
