You should write a better brief - something more of a challenge for designers otherwise the standard of entries will be pish - it'll be anything and everything with no real meaning.
Why not push people towards wiki's or info on autism so they can read a bit about it (thus educating more people about the cause) and get them to pick up on something to do with the autism.
You just have to read a wiki about it to know that an excellent brief could be written for this subject.

Designers designing things that communicate the difficulties of autism
look at all these keywords;
- impair social interaction
- restricted and repetitive behavior
- silence
- movement disorders
- restricted interests
- unusual gestures
- diminished responsiveness
- repeating wordsIf this was a D&AD competition then it'd be a cracker!
