I may have found a place to move to - shared warehouse space, with a plentiful working area, great utilities and 'some really potent-sounding synergies' with other tenants.
In one sense, it's a step backwards (renting a room in a place with a load of people I don't really know - I mean, I'm in my thirties, for fuck's sake) - in another, it's a step forward, in fulfilling my ambitions of 'dicking around functionally', amusing myself productively and making real-world things for people to enjoy or use.
It'll be a while yet before I completely free myself of making things for other companies to use to make money from, and it'll be a while before I fix myself in the the loftily-aimed niche of making useful, renewable things that aren't entirely deleterious to Mother Earth, but it's a step.
Small steps.
Small steps towards riches, or small steps towards happiness? I'm not sure yet. I'm not even sure that's a question I want to answer before I'm 50 anyway. All I know is - I don't want to be a drone.
