    Sig,

I had a debate about grocery stores with a colleague a few months back. After bickering for a couple hours about this idea we came to a conclusion: A large grocery / chain store in downtown detroit would never work.

Think about it. They would need 24/7 security and surveillance, not to mention the amount of consumers passing through the store would require a ridiculous supply and demand of product... Have you ever been to a CVS downtown? There are whole aisles where the shelves are mostly barren with 1 or 2 items left behind.

    • Also there are the local grocers / farmers markets / eastern market to considerd_rek
    • They used to work. Farmer Jacks went down a few years ago.Mimio
    • what about meijer? that seems to be working.doesnotexist
    • there's a meijer downtown? where?d_rek
    • Meijers in Dearborn?Mimio
    • But, that is a major reason for people not moving back to the city...so which comes first?SigDesign
    • people or infrastructure?SigDesign
