When I had a studio with another bloke I was doing these record sleeves where we'd shot a bunch of glamour models and I was using them to create illustrations from. It was really complicated because I had to draw these fiddly meticulous linearts in Illustrator then use them as a way of exposing and darkening in Photoshop to make a crude photographic image out of three layers of linework. Each still image took me two or three days to produce and it was a hit and miss affair.
I got into work one morning and my partner was looking very pleased with himself. "got some good news for you" he said, "I've just had the band's manager on the phone. He loves your illustration style so much he has asked the label to pay for it to be animated as their debut video. We've got until next Friday... we're doing the video !!! High Five!!!!".
