Better company as in RUN - obvious.
Better designers... hardly. They wish they had the creativity. So, I don't find it a stretch for someone to subconsciously lift an idea from a real design company and play it off as their own to their latte sipping Account Exec who loves it.

I never said it was done blatantly. I just find it curious.
