Rybo
The idea thats staring you in the face is a design crit site.
(Of course could also be for other creative genres too - photography, illustration, 3D modelling etc).Get some quite senior or experienced designers in the field involved and they are the main dudes (or dudettes) on the site.
Folk submit designs to the site (and would be archived threadless stylee) and the 'main dudes' can crit these designs or offer advice. Others/peers on the site could also offer advice too.Maybe theres other features too: a featured crit or "main dudes favourite piece of work this week". where all the main writers choose their fav piece of work theyve seen.
This site could work as something to help designers like yourself Rybo who are not mature enough as designers to evolve their own work and make creativeprocess decisions.
The help and advice you would get from the "main dudes" (and indeed peers) would be like advice youd get from a senior designer or creative directer if you were working at a design house rather than freelancing. Some work might be sensitive, so there could be a "confidential" area where you could submit work to "the main dudes" and the public will never see it.
As well as critting, the site could also be used for advice ...
"how do i print onto ...."
"what is the best paper for ..."-----------
It could have potential to take-off.
rather than being a site which is diluted with other forum discussions and pish, just concentrate on advice/crit side of things.I think its a pretty good idea and I wasnt going to mention it and do it myself. However, I thought of a shit hot idea the other night, that - pending further investigation/research, might end up taking up a LOT of my time.
