I've noticed a lot of people complainig how slow their internet is lately. I have a theory that I've held for a long time and often get derided for amongst my friends...

When they're bringing out a new computer, they have ways of making the one you've perfectly well for the last two years suddenly start spinning clocks and bumbling. Similarly, when they want to market the next generation of internet connection, they make the current one run as slowly as the previous one did. In that way, towards the end of its marketable life, Broadband reduces down to the speed and efficatiousness of 56k dial-up. This means that when 'megaband' hits, it seems demonstrably faster than broadband when in fact its almost the same as Broadband was at the beginning.

I could go on adding more words to this but maybe I've said enough.
