My wife bought a bushel of tomatoes for $15 yesterday at the farmers market. Mostly they were seconds (ones that people wouldn't generally buy to but in salads or whatever). He also threw in a freezer bag of basil. They have since been washed, cored and pureed and are currently cooking alog with a half a bag of onion and two jars of minced garlic. Should make at least enough sauce for the winter

*holds, for dear life, onto the sad remnants of a Brit summer*anairn - Nice. I usually buy the garlic and ginger and peel them first. Then I either grate or mince them. Grating is better.Jaline
- We also get tomatoes from a farm. Every few years we go and stock up for another few years. We also buy fresh ones.Jaline
