  Thanks for the response, guys. See, here's the thing: I have a program cover with an illustration taking up the top half of the page. I want a solid colored vertical bar on the right with the event title text punched through. For some reason, I thought there was an easy way to do it, but I'm thinking that I might have to convert it to outlines and subtract from shape. I'm kind of borderline OCD, so when I think I know about a way to do something, I'll go nuts trying to figure it out. haha
