We had tons of family members over to our house this past weekend and it was crazy. Parents shouldn't be parents; kids get jealous when you play with cousins from the other side of your family (even though the jealous cousins have been to your house before and know where everything is, and therefore don't get to be needy all day); physical fights between siblings = broken objects around the house; cousins parenting each other.
I love cute kids but situations like this slap reality back into me. I can only handle kids for a few hours. Otherwise I need a break every few hours before handling them again. I was never a "care-taker" type person in the first place.
Anyway, the house is a mess but they don't stay over often.
