Hi Mark, I went to your site and this may well be just a personal thing but I wouldn't go into detail about why you're looking for work... Save that for if people ask? Seems like too much detail:

"My current employer is in a bit of financial difficulty and although they plan to keep me and my team within the organisation for the foreseeable future they have said "if you want to look for other opportunities you can".

    Also:
"I'm probably selling myself a bit short, however my asking salary of 30k+ should let you know a little more about the caliber of work and skills I bring."
    1. comes across as a mix of both under-confident and slighty arrogant but doesn't actually say anything about your skills
    2. sounds like you think 30k is loads of money so people will never offer you more than that if it were available
    3. says you think you are of high calibre because of that figure. if anyone had a larger budget, they might therefore assume you weren't of high enough calibre to hire.

    • trooepr the more you ask for the better you have at landing the job.e-pill
    • no one wants to hire deadbeats unless they just need to fill a seat.e-pill
    • cool thankstrooper
