Depends when it is. Does it literally fall over Christmas?
Or like the week before?
If it wouldn't intervene with hanging out with my family, it's a no brainer to go. If you don't want to, don't though.
You should be able to bring at least one guest (doesn't work with the company) though, otherwise I definitely wouldn't go.
I know in the past with trips like these, some people get kind of angry if people take the cash option - but since everyone is getting to go and it's not like a select few opting out probably won't be looked down upon by some.
But just remember, if everyone does opt out - this will never come back up.
