To me, the core of what Macaso was 'trying' to say was simply that the design is inappropriate for the product marketed.
To say that a product not related to entertainment should be conservative - I disagree with as well.
But, again, I think his point was more that if a product isn't exciting then the design shouldn't be either. I would be more inclined to agree with this. I don't know if I do. Depends really.
