I don't get the Olympics at all. Why would I want to watch all these really tedious sports that no one likes, just because they're only on every four years?
Honestly, how many people, outside the families of the participants, would go watch swimming, if it wasn't in the Olympics? About 11, worldwide?
Or men's gymnastics? Or wrestling? Outside the Olympics, you can't give away tickets to this stuff. Honestly, you could have the top 200 wrestlers in the world, wrestling their wee torsos off, but if it's not the Olympics, no one would walk across the street.
"Joe, there's a big, big wrestling match Saturday down at the arena? Wanna go?"
"What, the guys the with the capes and shit, and the tag-teams business?"
"No real wrestling. The wee guys. The world champions."
"Fuck that. I've got beer to drink here."
- Its called national pride.ETM
- well, because they ARE only on every 4 years and you can see all the determined people slaving away...Greedo

- I actually with Greedo. Some of the American athletes are damn annoying (yes, they are in particulary), but it's still fun to watchJaline
- watch. Plus, all of these athletes have put so much effort and their own money (at least in Canada) for this event.Jaline
