I see what you are saying and agree. I guess there has been so many similar doom type scenarios that it is really hard not to be super cynical. It is sad but I think the green party is purposely using issues like this to push their agenda. Their good intentions have turned into being deceptive.
On a personal level, everytime I go hiking in the mountains I see peoples trash and bottles even in the most remote areas and that really gets to me. I don't ever litter and try and recycle as much as possible among other things, but it certainly isn't because I think the earth will end if I don't.
