rich media banners? it sort of depends what kind you are building. some expand when rolled over, some have an expanded portion already available when visiting a url...it really depends. also, keep in mind that when creating a banner, most sites that allow rich media banners require that a 3rd party vendor, like Pointroll or Eyeblaster, have to serve the banner. It might be worth checking out sites like theirs for some additional insights. I've worked with Pointroll in the past and they actually have an Flash API that streamlines some of the functionality of allowing your banner to talk to the rich-media expanded panels.
