definitely hang out in berlin for while.. it should sort you out.
that said, i am constantly reading on expat forums Americans complaining that Berliners are too unfriendly and staunch. I live in berlin, and they are the complete opposite, they just dont suffer fools lightly.. not sure how they handle hipsters.
