The guy next to the victim saw him getting stabbed a bunch of times before he went up to the bus driver and told him about the situation, and then everyone got off the bus. It does seem a bit strange that not one person would help out when you're on the outside looking in, but most people wouldn't while IN the situation, in the moment. It's sad, but human. I'm guessing that many people will be throwing out the "what ifs" in the days to come, including the other passengers.
