Yes, Dancer it's an interesting question. I'm sure when many of us started were inspired by and looked up to people like Carson or TDR who had a very "defined" style.
Then when you get into the real world you learn that that is sort of self-indulgent to think that way when you are working for real clients.
But...the fact is that most famous, mega-successful designers DO have a style and in fact that's largely why they are famous. So I think it can be something to aspire to even if you don't use it on every job or if it is constantly changing.
