I gotta say, it has its downsides (such as no ocean and a non-existent art scene), but the cost of living in St. Louis is the best I've ever seen, when compared with typical salaries. If I'd stayed back East in the B'more area, I'd be making about the same amount of money with 20% higher cost of living.
