Wouldn't matter, they've done a masterful job of keeping the pure truth away from the public. We'll never know exactly how/why things were done.
All we do know for sure is that they lied about everything and lined the pockets of their pals with billions, for years and years to come.
Honestly, I think it was pretty impressive (in an evil, maniacal way) that they pulled it all off.
