I make more money than most of my architect's friends. I also work a lot less hours and actually get to enjoy other fine things in life.

i recently met up with some of my classmates from school. One works at Frank Gehry and it's great to hear about the projects he's working on. What they work on is totally on a different scale and I miss practicing architecture. BUT, I don't miss enough to ever wanting to go back. I'd be happy to design my own apartment or house.

i assume once they are in their late 40-50's having their own practice, then they can begin to pull a lot more money. But that's a long way to go and also only handful of them succeed.
