Haha, wow! Thanks for the comments. I don't mind the random garbage, actually makes it more entertaining.
And, actually, I think getting critique and feedback from other people very valuable. I don't think it means your a shit designer - I actually think you're a shit designer if you don't ask for help. A proud one too.
Anyway, it's coming on. I'm getting some content now (sometimes it's like squeezing blood from a stone, but we get there).
I realised that my screen shows more detail than others - like some of the lighter elements just appear white on other screens. Need to calibrate.
What seems weak now is the bits on the left, but we'll get there.
