  OK, to take the opposite view, my wife is a doctor. She is on call every other day. Even when we go to movies, shows, etc. she needs the blackberry - either to go into the hospital or advise staff of what to do with a patient.

  It's annoying as hell yeah - but maybe you should assume that some of the people with those things who are "annoying you" are in the process of saving someones life.
