Look, I LIKE McCain. Probably a good guy at heart. Love to sit and have a beer with the guy. Certainly loves his country, and his sacrifice while in uniform is undeniable and worthy of honor. But IMHO he'd be a piss poor president, considering his policies, age, and the temperment of the moment.
Where I lost all respect for McCain was in 2000 when Bush's campaign fucking slandered him from here to hell and back during the Republican primaries, and McCain sucked it up and smiled and played nice nice after. It really undermined his credibility for me - meaning he didn't live up to his reputation as the tough guy military maverick - who I expected to pull Bush aside, rip off his neck and shit down it. He didn't...
