    on Universalism....

Obama...claims to be a Christian as everyone knows.

But when pressed on this issue he folds and says that he believes all paths lead to God basically. Which for most on this board probably doesn't matter much (and that's fine). The irony is that when you look at even a few of the major world religions and their teachings, you see that they have completely different messages (contradictory in most cases) and are mutually exclusive. I don't care if he believes this or not (or whether or not people here agree or disagree), just don't claim to be a christian.

    • So he can't be a Christian while also believing everyone's individual path is equally valid?harlequino
    • I personally believe he is doing what Bush did...trying to play the religion card to get votes.designbot
    • Interpretation is what it's called and he can ecumenical if he desires. Very fair and enlightened perspective actually.Mimio
    • pah, if he has to lie to get the idiot fundies to vote for him, then all power to him. People are idiots, do what you have to.mikotondria3
    • Playing the religion card??? While right wing radio is still calling him a "muslim". WHich side is playing the religion card?TheBlueOne
    • agree w/designbot. he says that but he probably doesn't believe it..just trying to appeal to a broader base.sputnik2
