All this talk of feathers reminds me of an incident which happened to me a number of years ago. I was sharing a house with some friends. One of their mothers had this OCD thing going with cleaning and decorating (always to her taste and never supervised). I came home one day to discover a giant blue vase in the living room containing FOUR PEACOCK FEATHERS ffs! That’s real bad luck if you happen to be superstitious (I am). That’s worse than a hat on the bed.
Even now, 10 years later, if anything even slightly bad happens, I think to myself “those bloody peacock feathers”.
- My mom has a bunch at home. In Asia it's more for good luck.
