When I was in high school in this really bad neighborhood, full of old buildings.
2 blocks right to that building, I remember there was a guy with a broom, sweeping bats from the 2nd story to the street..
it was noon ( I remember cause we all went to get lunch) and I remember watching the bats fall slowly with their wings open but un-able to fly cause of the light. they will land on the sidewalk and crawl for a few seconds and then stay still, so I knew they were alive. We asked the guy why is there so many bats, and he yelled (from above) there is so many here, I have full bags full of them! and he threw one of those 15 gallon black plastic bags FULL of living, moving still crawling bats to the sidewalk (from the 2nd floor!)
at this point my friends and I forgot about lunch already and started to check out the bats and poke them with a stick ( I was probably 14, 15 years old..
And one of my friends came running towards the big black bag and kicked it, the bag flew on to my face..
everyone laughed, not me..
I swore I felt the little creatures grabbing my cheek.. oh man it was nasty..that day, I probably washed my face 15 times in separate occasions, during the rest of the day at school and when I got home I hit the shower scrubbing my face for as long as I could but the feeling of them crawling stayed with me for like a week..
since then, I'm disgusted by those creatures.
true story!
