cooper hewitt design triennial is worth a stop (91st & 5th ave). djs in the garden on fridays. central park is also right across the street.
live music (check voice or time out to see who's in town). lots of outdoor options during the summer (prospect park, central park, castle clinton).
cast iron architecture on greene st.
modern furniture shops on wooster
food. so many places to eat. new vegetarian place on 1st ave bet 8th and 9th called counter that's great if you're into vege food.
and, yeah, a circleline is a great way to get your bearings.
