i went to a friend of a friends studio and he had a pretty original setup.
he had the 23" flat panel suspended from the ceiling using velcro strips around the monitor on both ends, then attacked to these suspension cables meant for turntables in clubs/dj booths, this was then on a track on the ceiling so he could move the monitor a few feet to the right or left, i'd imagine he could also adjust the height.
he works on music and has lots of old synths/drum machines set up around him which i guess is what he needs to move the monitor a bit.
it honestly wasn't the prettiest set up i must add. orange velcro straps around the monitor with cables running all over in the air. but the thing seemed stable, and it was cyberpunk looking as all hell.
