dude when someone mentioned the sticker earlier.. it was as an application of the logo NOT as a brand device..
try thinking of a reason..for actually having a sticker. i see NO relation between it consultants.. and a sticker. thats not what they do! they dont go around branding stuff (thats what you do) they also dont go arround 'accepting people' in anything..
they fix consult and advise you it solutions. (which means that the square peg round hole analogy is disturbingly wrong)
its basically saying... "fuck it we dont know what we're doing so we'll think of something and try and jam it in your business any way we - even if it doesnt fit.." - doesnt sound like i want to do business with them.
think - puzzles, keyboards, on-lights, geeks, binary, cables, jacks, connections, growth, think of things that represent IT in general
then think what akes them - THEM. are they tongue in cheek? are they dead serious? figure out what they got to offer.. look at things like The Geek Squad. (super awesome branding - NOT trendy!)
you are basically defending your 'baby' because you've been looking at it for too long!
making something that looks exactly like something else so it blends in ISNT the point! the point is to make something that doesnt blend in (and that it stands out for the right reasons)
i think my advice to you is at this stage.. dont think shapes & typefaces (let alone letterheads and business cards)
think concept, give yourself room to be able to expand on it afterwards. instead of jut stamping the logo on everything.
think like.. if the logo was a cable. different b'cards could have different jacks, or different colour cables for different sections on websites..
if the logo was an on-light - could you make it out of heat sensitive paper so it turned on when you pressed it? (but also think about what the on-light - and the jack actually represent in terms of IT)just step away from potatoshop and get back on to pen and paper..
and if you post another picture within a week i will bitchslap you
