"having a child with someone you have a great relationship with and not marrying them is a choice that bewilders me."

I can de-wilder you if you like. I would marry. My partner prefers not to get married. She's felt that way as long as I've known her. Her parents seperated when she was about 8 and it was very painful for her, so marriage holds no value as a result. Neithe rof us have religious belief, so the only reason for marriage would be to make a commitment (we have made that commitment) and for the 'romance' ( we try and squeeze some in, between rush jibs and our baby speaking in tongues).

We have been together for a very long time and are as good as married, but we don't need no piece of paper from the city hall, keeping us tied and true.

I also love that song, and the whole album. Its best on vinyl, especially if the vinyl is a bit worn and crackly.

Hope that puts your mind at rest. I would marry her tomorrow if she changed her mind.

    • "Rush Jibs"... a specialist term for those time when you have to jib in a hurry.
