  i think 'catoonist' is the old word here. but it associates newspaper strips and tiny animations with speaking animals. when reading about comic makers it's often 'comic book creator', 'comic book artist'. i would rather choose 'comic artist' from spookytim. it depends on the context. but hey - when talking about a comic to be published you might feel comfortable being called its AUTHOR?

  • Aye but author suggests one who writes, ie the comic's writer, not the illustrator/ inker/ colourist...ian
  • in certain or out of context - true. then better take comic artist.invisiblechamber
