    LOL - I'll give this a try:

    In interviews, there's generally a line drawn between what constitutes an "artist" from a "designer".

    "Real" designers will be able to show that they put the user first and foremost in mind when designing something because it's there to complete a task in the most efficient and appropriate manner.

    If you can show both your understanding of your audience and what constitutes the various elements that make a really useful website beautiful*, that's generally a good start.

    * I know it's in the eye of the beholder but you need to give a better reason for designing something other than you saw it on Design Charts and thought it looked cool. :-)
