"writing down notes is a waste of time either let me learn this shit or waste my time taking down notes..."
Some people learn by taking notes. If you don't, take a course that is taped, or tape it yourself. Take notes the first time, and then just listen to the lecture the second time around. Or vice-versa. I realize this is more feasible in uni/college, so you'll just have to get through it, like most others.
