  That's what they're saying, anyway.

  Secretly, it has already been turned on and is slowly accreting a sentient energy shell. It'll begin flinging out extra dimensions across Switzerland, consuming cubic kilometres worth of matter, people and life, turning it into slow energy, then collapsing into a black hole. But not before channeling the pre-collapse energy front into a song frequency, sent across the universe. This will be already dreadfamiliar to species across the galaxy, a chant proclaiming The Darkening's consumption and decimation of yet another ignorant fleshRace, too stupid to realise it was building the device of its own destruction.
