Don't do it, it will linger around in your mind for many many years to come, and you won't be able not to do it.
Think of the occaisions you've taken a stand against something unprincipled ? Don't you look back at that with pride and feel you made the world a better place ?
Every second of every day there are people on their death beds regretting easy decisions to do the right thing that they passed up.
In this world there are mean bastards that steal and oppress, and sometimes they band together into groups to carry this out, with flags and banners and lawyers and logos, other times they just wander about with sticks. The course of human history is the ebb and flow of these cunts into ordinary people's lives, so sometimes Im afraid, that line wends it's way to you and you have to step one side or the other.
Heck, if it really would fuck you up by saying no, give the money to a charity that you feel would do most to rectify the situation at the time and place that the client is seen to be doing wrong. Then pay that amount again.
