3rd entry into the disarming, bizarre world that is my subconscious
had a dream last night, this one featured emu. though i never actually saw him, just his fingers. i'll esplain...
i was somewhere, outside i think. really weird locale and i can't remember how to describe it as it's just a fuzzy memory now. the only thing i can picture is the final scene in "the cell" if anyone knows that movie. it's sort of an outside scene but there are romanesque pillars and trees about. theres a grave off to one side, but it's one of those stone caskets like you'd see in louisiana. the lid is off and its full of solid ice. i start digging away at it.
apparently emu is trapped on the other side because i break through it and he puts his fingers through the hole and i can hear him talking. apparently its a wormhole or portal to the past. emu lives in the past, i guess, and i'm trying to bring him to the future to meet him. (i'm pretty sure he only lives 2 time zones away, but it made perfect sense in the dream.) also it seemed perfectly natural that a time portal would exist in a grave and to cross the time gap you would have to go through a block of ice.
anyway, out of nowhere this bear shows up. a polar bear i guess. so i walk away from the grave so the bear doesn't suspect anything but he apparently was a time-sniffing bear and realized something delicious was trying to travel through that grave. so then i have to distract the bear and get him away from it and keep him from snacking on emu. so then i'm trying to chase this bear away and trying not to get eaten or killed at the same time. meanwhile, fucking emu is still sitting there in the ice not helping me out at all.
and then i woke up
