went to DC to the mall this weekend.
was really nice weather. got off the subway at the smithsonian and walked into what was the "folkfest" which was separated into 3 sections:
Bhutan, texas and NASA... all of which scream "folk" to me. i guess you could argue for texas, but it was still odd.
the Bhutanese displays were kinda nice. they had some sand artists doing their thing. the patience is unreal. said it takes 8 years to perfect the technique.- not from DC but this is what i mean:
