I couldn't get ZiPhone to work, nor any of the others, using XP on an early edition iTouch, after upgrading it to firmware 1.1.4.
I tried three different jailbreak methods, each several times with no success. Then...I tried the iLiberty software hacking method, and it worked like a charm the very first time. It can be tricky, and it's not without it's risk depending on which version of iTouch/iPhone you have, when it was made, computer your using, etc. But generally, it's all un-doable, by restoring it if things go bad.
You also have to do a certain kind of restart before you begin. They explain it all here...
