when a bunch of us passed our driving tests and had cars we'd drive about 5 miles from where we lived to this woodland, you could drive the cars along a track to a huge natural bowl covered in grass with woodland around the top of the bowl, the track ran through the middle.
we'd park up the cars in a large circle and have tarpollen (is that how you spell it) spread between the cars to provide a waterproof shelter.
we would hire a generator so it could power lights and a soundsystem and have the best outdoor parties drinking and smoking weed.
everytime i hear Primal Scream's "Screamadelica" album and KLF's "Chill Out" albums they remind me of the early hours at these parties, lying under the stars wasted with these sounds playing.
these parties went on each weekend all through one summer until the woman who owned the woodland decided to burn down part of her own woodland and blame it on the party-goers (us) in the local newspaper which made sure we'd never be able to party there again.
