the pint is a good place to go on a weekday like friday because its around the corner from mtv, sony, geffen, MGM, Universal and Activision so its got neat people.. its off of pico and cloverfield in santa monica.
otherwise i suggest you hit up any of the bar / restaurants in venice on main street if your looking for atmosphere.
there's also this really cool place off of wilshire and... 6th? but i forgot the name. very cool space.
