In ancient times, before NT became QBN, rumours were rife that there was going to be another redesign. With the redesign there was also talk of a way to see a person's IP so you could identify who was posting BS under another username. or could see a list of usernames under ones IP.
That would be a handy feature.
dog_opus, I think you're largely right. But some people feel their good nature is being taken advantage of (see the "McCain" thread, or the "New User Here" thread for examples).
Mostly, I think people need to not antagonize others without cause, It's pretty childish and really serves no purpose other than to bother people and waste valuable time (which is strange behaviour for a multi-millionaire, if you ask me – he should have more important matters to concern himself with). That being said, I'm almost as turned off by all of the people professing their hate for this guy/girl as I am by the antagonistic nature of hedge himself.
- Lots of people will have 2-3 IPs every day, work, home, hotspot...ribit
- although I tracked a troll on a forum I managed who registered 7 times, and all the IPs centered around Houston, which did help identify each time he registered again..ribit
