Tribe, by it very definition implies rivalry and conflict. We, like most other animals on this planet have an instinct for survival that causes us to compete, in social groups or alone, for the resources we need to survive.
You are oblivious to this because you live in western luxury, oblivious to any real notion of struggle at all.
Like dogs, it only takes a prolonged hunger to make us revert to a more combative state of mind.
