  To an extent I think this is true.

  Small to medium businesses seem to be taking to these "out-of-the-box" design options because they're cheap; but even then they are asking designers (often students) to implament them.

  On a grand scale, I don't think good design will ever die out. "Big business" or "the corporate world" will never go for a template solution as they strive on brand equity.
