I agree with the point mentioned in the video insert by the Englishman. But to add to that, intelligence has mainly become a huge social contract for cultural assimilation. High standards of Europe have been at the helm in defining what objectivity and value is. Partly due to Europe's many attempts to reign imperial for centuries; violently imposing on the world, it's languages, leadership, and culture. For the non-European, a tough pill to swallow.
So language... How it's used over continents, cultures, races, in my opinion, is the primary scale everything can be judged upon. A misspelled word, a verbal flaw, and a noticeable communication gap; are noticed as that by a larger number within the population. But let's forget obvious toll of imposed colonialism.
The key issue is assimilation. Control. Herd-ism. That's the big picture. African's fail to realize that the European shunned, chaotic and improvisational approach to life is the womb of life. There is something larger at play.
